HI, I'm Melanie and I will be one of the diving instructors for your Aquaventures Kids Scuba & Marine Education diving experiences.

I studied a BSc in Marine Biology and Polluted Ecosystems in the UK. During this time I learnt to scuba dive in the Red Sea, Egypt. This experience was life changing and has driven me to spend as much time as possible below the surface.

After graduation, I travelled around the world continuing my dive education becoming a qualified instructor and then teaching diving. This adventure took me to amazing places and gave me experiences I never thought imaginable.

After arriving in Australia in 2008 I decided to call this beautiful place home. I worked as a scuba diving instructor in Sydney for a while. After spending a few years in an office job I decided it was time to get back to my real passion. Through Aquaventures we hope to immerse kids in this beautiful underwater world, teaching them about the ocean's amazing inhabitance and how to protect it.

I have been a PADI Oper Water Scuba Instructor for 9 years, teaching a range of courses all over the world from kids' scuba programs, to first aid and rescue courses.

After finishing my degree in Accounting, I went on a holiday and learnt to scuba. What was a 2 week holiday to Cyprus turned into a a few months where I continued my dive education from Open Water to Divemaster. To say I was hooked was an understatement. The underwater world seems a little more exciting than crunching numbers at a desk. 

After Cyprus I continued my dive adventures in the Red Sea, Egypt. It was here I got into underwater photography and discovered where my true passion was. I worked alongside instructors capturing photographic memories of people's first dive experiences. I never get tired of seeing the look on people's faces when they take their first breaths under water and see their first turtle cruising past them.  

I have been a PADI Divemaster for 9 years and recently completed my PADI Assistant Instructor course and look forward to taking you on your underwater aquaventures.
