PADI Open Water Course
PADI Open Water Course
Have you been thinking about taking scuba diving lessons? It’s time to take the plunge! Get your PADI Open Water Certification.
The PADI Open Water Course is your first offical scuba diving license that will let you start exploring the amazing underwater world. PADI is the worlds largest diver training organisation and the PADI Open Water Course is a worldwide recognised scuba diving certification. By completing this entry level scuba diving course you are certified to go diving with a buddy anywhere in the world.
The course is run over 4 Days.
Although many dive schools offer PADI Open Water Courses over 2 or 3 days, this is because the theory that is part of the course is done through on-line eLearning. This has to be completed in your own time before commencing the course. We have chosen to teach the theory of diving in a classroom environment. With most of our students being kids, we feel that teaching the dive theory in a classroom environment is best to ensure students have a full understanding of all the information.
As well as the classroom work there in 5 pool sessions. These are completed in our purpose built diver training pool in Clontarf. The pool and classroom work will be the first 2 days of the course.
Divers aged between 10 and 14 years old will receive a PADI Junior Open Water Certification. After certification, divers aged 10 or 11 must dive with either a parent / guardian or a PADI Professional to a maximum depth of 12 metres. Divers aged 12-14 must dive with an adult certified diver.
The course is run over 4 days and will consist of 2 pool/classroom days and 2 ocean days. The schedule may vary due to tides.
